The Mo Millar Band proudly present "Proud Mary, a Tribute to Tina Turner", a genuine explosion of Rhythm & Blues, topped with a mean sauce of Rock, Blues, Gospel and Soul.

Millar's teenage years were spent glued to her radio each Thursday night between 20h. and 22h so as not miss a single note of the latest 'import  from Ferry Maat's Soul Show and the influences of her DJ-ing brothers Drive in Show. The energy and excitement of the 60s, 70s and 80s music scene became Millar's childhood references and continue to inspire her performances to this day.

Exploring the musical heritage of Tina Turner was a logical choice for Millar, not in the least because of similar voice characteristics, but mostly due to being deeply moved by Anna Mae Bullock's life story and her enormous respect for the artist baptized 'Tina Turner' by Ike Turner. It was Ike who took Anna Mae Bullock out of Nutbush and created a star, but who would also let her live a genuine hell on earth for 16 years.

This demo CD opens with the Phil Spector master piece 'River Deep Mountain High' (1966 ), a smash hit across Europe and a collaboration that would deeply affect Tina in a positive way, laying the first stone of the independence, a path she would finally take when leaving Ike in 1976.

Known for her musicality, and 'big voice'  with a track record of more than 20 years of activity on the European music scene, Mo Millar is a safe bet. The magic of the Mo Millar Band comes to life on stage: a powerful female fronted band backed by an extraordinary crew of professionals, taking us along on a journey full of passion, rhythm, fire & lots of emotion.
